Over the last seven years, Place has supported
more than 40 local authorities on their BSF journeys, helped
set up more than 30 Academies across the country, and has
provided consultancy services to some 500 schools and FE colleges
across a range of ICT learning and infrastructure projects.
PlaceICT’s dedicated educational, technical and procurement
specialists act as independent external advisers, working
closely with Becta, Partnerships for Schools and the DCSF
to help schools, colleges and local authorities deal with
the complexities of ICT implementation more effectively.
Understanding
We know that local authorities, schools and colleges are at
different stages of their transformation journeys –
each with their own unique circumstances and their own unique
understanding of how technology can positively impact outcomes
for learners. PlaceICT works with each stakeholder in a way
that is appropriate for them, taking each individual start
point into account – using methods such as facilitation
and consensus-building to guide them on the ICT journey and
to align them behind a shared educational ICT vision.
Creativity
PlaceICT takes each stakeholder’s technical understanding
as a starting point and then shows them what is possible,
demonstrating new views and new horizons, but in a simple
and relevant way. This is achieved through activities such
as ICT immersion days with independent vendors, demonstrations
of the technology solutions which other organisations have
implemented and provision of ‘best practice’ case
studies from around the world. These activities enable the
right technology solutions, which will meet the agreed educational
vision, to be identified.
Expertise
We work closely with our clients throughout every step of
the procurement process, helping to inform and to impart knowledge
and experience. We’ve been down this road before and
we know what works, which enables us to guide our clients
in sourcing the appropriate technology and assessing solutions
partners. Our years of successful education transformation
experience, in programmes such as BSF and Academies, means
that we know the procurement process inside out and can take
away much of the pain of navigating through it.
